Dr. Ron Fox graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, in 1981. Following graduation he practiced in the Ottawa area before returning to the Ontario Veterinary College to further his studies. In 1985 he received a post graduate diploma in medicine and later that year joined Bay Cities Animal Hospital as a partner.
Dr. Fox is a past president of the Hamilton Academy of Veterinary Medicine and served as a member of the College of Veterinarians' Complaints Committee for three years. Dr. Fox has been voted "Best Veterinarian" several times in the past five years in the Burlington Post's Readers Choice Awards. Dr. Fox is a member of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association and the Hamilton Academy of Veterinary Medicine. He has an interest in cardiology and internal medicine and actively mentors final year students during their externship placements.
Over the years Dr. Fox's house has been home to dogs, cats, hamsters, rats and fish. Dr. Fox and his wife Barb, have one daughter, Nicole, studying engineering at Queen's University and two cats, Millie and Eddie. Outside interests include skiing, baseball, active travel and time at the gym. In the past few years Dr. Fox and Dr. Burtis have trekked to Everest base camp in Nepal and climbed Kilimanjaro in Africa. Most recently Dr. Winslow joined Drs. Fox and Burtis to hike the Inca trail to Machu Picchu in Peru.
