Dr. Kourtney Rivers

Dr. Kourtney Rivers joined Bay Cities Animal Hospital in October 2009. Dr. Rivers received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph and subsequently her D.V.M. degree from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph.  She is a member of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario, the Ontario Veterinary Medicine Association, and the Hamilton Academy of Veterinary Medicine.

Kourtney grew up in a rural town outside of Cambridge Ontario where she spent time horseback riding, training family dogs to be entered in local fairs pet shows, fostering several puppies for service dog programs and pet-sitting many of the neighbour's animals.

Dr. Rivers is the proud owner of two crazy, but lovely Dobermanns; Vida and Dieter.  She enjoys their endless antics at home, as well as training and trialing them in the dog sport called schutzhund (a sport developed in Germany).  She enjoys their family hikes on the beach and swimming in the summer.  In the winter, squash and snowboarding occupy any free time.  Dr. Rivers and her husband also have two young children who keep them even busier now, but they are loving every minute of it.
Dr. Rivers is keenly interested in maintaining a high standard of health care for your four legged family member through preventative medicine, owner education and clear communication. She is especially interested in canine behaviour, internal medicine and emergency medicine. "
